Okay, so I was surfin' around DA right and got so inspired by many of the prose poetry artists here.
As I've stated before, I have very little skill in poetry and had all but given up on myself in this aspect. Well now that I feel all inspired, ( And am too nervous to draw waiting on my AP art grades to come back...) I decided to try my hand one more time...

My computer's a jackass and won't convert my documents to the file type that DA uploads so I guess I'll just post a few up here in my journal. I'll try to fix the problem later and if you do like them (or hate them) comment please! ^__^


Coffee


The smell is familiar here and I tasted it bitter on my lips. My bad day.
Then someone called me over.
They smiled and fixed it all.
“ It’s gonna be okay.”
It was warm and comforting.
It reminded me why the smell is familiar here.
It’s like home.





Smokes


Need to be calm. Right now. It’s a frantic emergency.
So two low tars later, it’s only then that she realizes…
There’s still smoke in the city.
She’s wants a fire.
So maybe she needs a fuse, but there’s never a light nearby.
So she breathes it in, and holds it deep.
And she never exhales.
Ever.





Tea Time



Remember Lipton Tea days, sitting on wall ledges, swinging our feet laughing?
Well Lipton Tea days are gone now.
Replaced by Earl Grey nights
And bright stars to shoot for.
We’re all struggling to build stronger ladders of silver and gold to get there, collect them to impress.
To expose some of those glittering lights as planes we’d like to ride that never quite reach God’s eyes. So we rip them from the sky.

Remember the taste of Arizona Tea? Mango flavored and sweet? The way we giggled this, and chuckled that in the shadows of buildings? Looking over the rims of those cans we sipped from worried for each other, afraid we’d all forget the other’s faces.
Too bad our Salad Days have wilted.

Well, where are all my companions now? Climbing up, higher and away and I just want to pull them all back down and scream,
“ Remember? Remember?”
But those were Lipton Tea days.
Where we sat on wall ledges, swinging our feet, laughing.
Before it all got serious.
Well Lipton Tea days are gone now.
Replaced by Earl Grey nights.


The last one is my favorite. I just started my senior year of high school and I think this catches a lot of my feelings about my friends leaving before me and what I'm going through now. SENIORITIS!!! DUM DUM DUM!!!! XD
